Trish Bruxvoort Colligan is a Story Midwife.
As a performing songwriter/musician, spiritual director and human being Trish has committed to healing the world one story at a time.
For as long as she can remember, Trish has been smitten with Story. She has seen that when we are listened into the sacredness of our own stories, something in us is healed, and that healing ripples out into the world, for the world.
At the age of thirty, Trish created Spirations Institute (www.spirations.com) and began offering training in the art of Story Midwifery. In the last five years, Spirations has been widening into a global, bridge-building community for spiritual directors, healers, artists and teachers who connect to the power of art of Story.
Trish has been told that her family name means “bridge-builder”: a name she wears well. As a touring songwriter/musician, her music is celebrated in diverse spiritual communities, from New Thought to conservative Christian, from Wiccan to Buddhist, from women’s sacred/Goddess circles to the folksy-artsy crowd. (Sometimes all in the same room!) While this makes it a little hard to pin her into a particular genre, she relishes the fact that her work has created around her such a wonderfully assorted community.
In addition to her solo music work, Trish records and travels with her husband Richard as The River’s Voice (www.riversvoice.com).
Trish fancies a life rich with poetry, ritual, beauty and “real-life-ness.” She lives and frolics in the hills of Iowa alongside her beloved Richard, their school-aged son Sam, their grandmother-midwife dog Abby, and three very odd cats.
Trish offers a free meditation on the 11th of each month at 11 o’clock central time. Join in here: www.11MinutesOfBliss.com
